I am a mom from Vancouver, BC that juggles my time between my husband (who usually keeps himself entertained), my son, my aging parents, crafts, and getting in shape (by now, I have no time left for this).
I am Chinese but not a tiger mom but I plan to make use of the feather duster if my son needs discipline beyond time outs. Yes, if you know what I’m talking about, you must be chinese as well… and from my generation. I follow a lot of my mom’s old traditional ways in terms of raising my son and basically life. I don’t have saran wrap around my remote control though.
I write mostly about 3 things – my husband, Patch’s, “antics” (whom I love dearly but I write about him instead of nagging him keeps our marriage intact), parenting and cooking. I love to cook but I (like my husband) have a problem following instructions. I always think I can improve on a recipe and believe that everyone can make their recipe their own.
Here is my parenting philosphy – I have none. I do many things that makes some moms cringe or roll their eyes at me. I sometimes go overboard with adoration towards my son or putting fear in him to keep him in line.
I started a Facebook page in December 2013. Please take a look and LIKE it! I’m still in the process of learning how to playing around with it.
Why have The Hub’s Edition?
My husband is a smart man, successful professional and the best father one could be to our children.
However, once he comes home from work, he hangs up his jacket along with his common sense.
Because of the fact that he’s a respected professional in public, he finds it insulting when I point out the stupid things he does at home. That’s just what it is, stupid things, but it doesn’t change what a great father he is. And it’s not like he’s stupid like an idiot. He values his time so much to a point where he takes a lot of short cuts. Spending a few seconds to look for something in the pantry and not as worthwhile as going out to buy it (hence, why we have 3 boxes of kosher salt that has been used once in each).
And he doesn’t understand that. So I write here instead of telling him. And life is better at home and our relationship is better now.
I get a lot of bloggers liking and following my blog, please don’t hesitate to come say hi so that I know you’re not an evil bot planning world domination.
Is tiger transliterated from Hokkien, Lao Hor Bu? Lol… I just started blogging due to the encouragement of my children. I guess it’s their way of saying “stop breathing down our necks”. Will be visiting your blog often 🙂
When we use the term tiger mom here, this is what we normally refer to.

Very similar to what we meant by 老虎母 lao hor bu in Hokkien, except it refers not only to mothers but also to wives or lady bosses who can be very rigid and anal in getting what they want or the offender will suffer one way or another.
I like your philosophy on blogging about your husband instead of nagging him…lol! I will definitely have to try that!!!
thanks for reading, yes, you should write about your hubby instead of nagging (tho i still nag sometimes because there are some things that he need to “get”), just dont let him find your blog! lol
I am an evil bot planning world domination. And I’m on a bender.
Love your blog!
Thank you!
I’ve have enjoyed reading your blog – so I have nominated you for The Liebster Award! Congratulations! All you have to do is visit my post, answer the questions and nominate 11 others of your choice – have fun http://thismakesmehappytoo.wordpress.com/the-liebster-award/
Thank you for the nomination, it’ll be tough finding blogs with less than 200 followers but I’ll try my best. 🙂
Shame on you women for blogging about or nagging your husbands! We husbands should be loved and nurtured and stuff!!! lol.
nagging is a tougher form of nurturing and we’re tough because we love them so dearly!
Lol. My wife is a kick ass nurturer then! I wish you all would just bring us beers to nurture us though instead. Thanks for the chuckle. I’ve heard Vancouver is beautiful!
yes, we have sun, sand and mountains but there’s also a lot of rain!
Hi Mo, I don’t know if you’re into awards but I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. Hope you accept! You don’t need to nominated 11 bloggers, 3-5 is more than sufficient. You only need to nominate those you feel deserve extra exposure for their work 🙂 Go here to find out more: http://bondingtool.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/liebster-blog-award/
Cheers!
I really like the look and tone of your blog! And don’t worry about not following cooking instructions. The best cooks don’t. I love the philosophy I quoted in this post: http://recipegluadys.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/pineapple-sauce/
Thanks for the like on my blog.
thank you for popping by!
I love that parenting philosophy!
