Healthy Kid’s Snacks – Roasted Chick Peas

A healthy crunchy snack that’s high in fibre, roasted chick peas is one of my boy’s favourite snack to munch on.  Fairly quick and easy to make, the outcome is delicious enough that even an anti-chick pea person like me would eat.  My hubs thinks I’m crazy for not bein ga chick pea fan like him.  He lives on hummus.

Ingredients and Instructions:

  • 1 can of chick peas (drained and washed)
  • Garlic salt
  • Olive oil (enough to coat)
  • Pre-heat oven to 450 F degrees (230 C degrees)
  • Drain, wash and dry chick peas and place in bowl.
  • Coat the peas in olive garlic, light sprinkle of garlic salt.
  • Spread them out on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes until it is crunchy and brown.
